Guess what?
If I'm reading it correctly, in the LS Malaysia, Jo Ki has already bought the new Rogers 60th edition. He has already logged in 20 hours of listening, and is mum about yet. How long must he keep his silence, and have us wait forrrreeeeever!!!
Four minutes in NYC they say is forever! Jo Ki Jo Ki Jo Ki! Let's hear it straight from the horse's mouth!

How many hours to break in? Hundreds? None? Very curious to know Jo Ki’s thoughts on his new treasure.

Checked the Malasian site just now. Jo Ki mentions his purchase of the Rogers 60th edition. But still no sound comments. Obviously, he's holding back only because he's listening some more I think. Gotta be careful.
My guess is he will include this new Rogers in the coming Malaysian audio meet. He has already lined up his new "Diva" and other vintage stuff to be heard during the show. I'm sure he'll report back. Very curious too Dan. Because here's some real opportunity to own a "real" new Rogers LS3/5A. A real "virgin" if you like!

Well, Jo Ki has made some initial impressions to the sound and compares this 60th Rogers favorably to the Kef LS version. Catch his observations or first impressions on the 60th at the Malaysian LS forum.
My initial "between the lines" deviled read would be: That if these 60th Rogers would beat Kef in some areas of its sound, then Ken K. would be right indeed about what he said about those old "pesky" kef drivers. Let's see where this is all leading to as people listen in to Jo Ki's sleuthing, and the new 60th Rogers LS 3/5A.

Well it would be gratifying to think the legacy of the LS3/5A BBC monitor would live on in a new readily available speaker. Please keep us posted on Jo Ki’s findings. Owning vintage audio gear has merits but also a downside in that over time those things we love do slowly degrade and will eventually fail. I own a pair of Harbeth LS3/5A’s SN is in the mid 200’s. I have no idea how old they are or how many hours they have been driven. The box is somewhat beat up but they sound very good to me. I do like vintage things. Perhaps in part because I have become a vintage thing too?

Ha ha, rightly so Dan! Vintage and us! And that's it! But our wives should like it. The more vintage they get, we'd love them more!
Just responded to Jo Ki on his initial impressions. He thinks the spendor kef drivers in the bass is more concentrated and deeper than the 60th Rogers. Break in issue? Hopefully. But my Studio 3 Rogers seem to have the same bass sound (lighter) as Jo said on the 60th in comparison to the Kef driven spendor.

Hi James, and to many friends in Philippines, sorry that I have not posted my opinion of Rogers 60th Anniversary Edition soon enough. I will try to bring you guys up to date of what I think of this speakers against the KEF-version.
My personal opnion of the performance todate of more than 60 hours of usage and listening, using 3 amplifiers - Diva Bluesky, Radford ST15 & Leak Stereo 20, I can now say that Rogers has succeed in cloning the sound of LS3/5A in broad terms. The main concern has been the midrange, its ability to pan a pinpoint imaging and that it is faithful to reproduce musical content rather than to impress listener from the physical dynamism, Rogers 60th has packaged these qualities in this incarnation. If this is not enough, it even has the "glow from within' sort of transparency and organic qualities that make this speakers transcience boundaries of all ages, cultural background and race.
Bass is of wider spread than concentrated of KEF's, 60th has slightly better hf extension but remain very simialr to T27 with a touch more silky and refine, midrange is also lesser compact but dense enough to come close to B110, specifically closer to the SP1003 kind of mdrange than SP1228 type. 60th sound 'quieter' with seemingly lesser 'white noise'.
Overall performance, KEF-drivers version still has a firm ground to maintain its stature in the market. The difference between them are small and a nickpick level. Otherwise I will be doomed with 24 pairs looking for new homes. With 60th in hand, I am not selling the rest of the 24 pairs. It also did not make me love them any less. I hope you get the picture.
Regards, Jo

Thank you very much for your detailed posting Jo Ki. "It also did not make me love them any less." I understand ;D Best of both worlds?

Thanks Jo. What looks obvious to me even from the beginning would be the drivers.
I have come to see that "difference" with my Rogers Studio 3 versus the Kef drivers on the LS3/5A. If the Rogers new drivers are indeed better, sounds better, will ultimately be up to the listener to find out. I enjoy the sound of the Rogers Studio 3 as well, only that I also keep going back to the LS3/5A it was intended to replace. If only I had not heard or lived with the LS sound, the Rogers Studio 3 would have been "it!" But the Rogers Studio 3 is not the 60th LS3/5A, and the 60th, while called an LS3/5A, may not be the kef driven LS3/5A, but still an LS3/5A! Yes sir! Best of both the old and new world is quite a good way of putting it.

Hi Ko, Thanks for sharing your impressions. It seems that a lot of work was put into the design of this speaker. What makes it even more meaningful is that it was made by people who love and are knowledgeable in the LS3/5A and not driven purely by commercial interests.

But the price it is asking for seems to according to some. Some little caveats make them think so like the use of "cheaper" binding post. But one has to thank Andy Whittle, the now Chinese owned Rogers Co. and John Bell for making the new LS3/5A possible -- an alternative to the otherwise hard to get old LS3/5As in the preused market.
I strongly think it's a good opportunity to own this old speaker design NEWWW!!!

"Gini" Go to stereomojo.com and see a copy cat of the LS3/5a at a remarkably affordable price. Let's face it. This is another potentially good speakers in the league of the LS. So now, anyone wanting these speakers can "review" the "Gini" out of the box!
