Alan Leung's favorite, the Fisher 50Cs preamp. Got the whole idea from Alan in his famous ratings of amps and preamps from the vintage era. The reason why it looks this way is because I had to rub clean the old tired brass to new lustre. These are very good preamps that challenged and stayed on its "own" the likes of Audible Illusions and Wright preamps. Back in my youthful days, I've always been a Fisher fan, so if you'll excuse the bias.
Next picture is the famous Pilot SA 232 by Isadora Goldberg. A certified pilot before he became an audio designer for airplane radio and consequently home audio.
The silver Pilot 232 look a like is a British el84 power amp called "ravensworth." I have no other knowledge save this on this amp. Don't even know if that is the correct name at all since this amp came with a sketchy description from an ebayer. Nonetheless it's a sweet sounding amp and does not need a preamp coz they've got gain pots.
For those of you wondering about the other pictures, the next ones are the Bogen 230 which I already have said something about, but not the DS225 Bogen which is dual rectified using GZ34 tubes. This amp uses a 7355 tube; tow for each channel giving an output of 25 watts per side. According to some info, Bogen was trying to make it into home audio with these amps since they were better known with their PA products. The late Joe Rosen of the AA has all praises for David Bogen and his "happy lads." Another famous Bogen is the DB 212. A 6V6 tube integrated that sounds sweet.
In the set-up, there's also a picture of an eico ST40 amp, and the famous Dynaco A25. The Dynaco is stationed in my bedroom being driven by a not so vintage tube amp but sounds real good with the TS34.1 SE amp using el34s. This is the Asian version of the Norh SE 9 amp of Thailand. Sorry not pictured here.
The two other speakers are the Tangent Monitor Six (Kef drivers the ones used by the Cresta models) and an American made speaker called Phase Tech.
