Hello I'm new to this forum. I was an Rogers LS 3/5A 15 ohm owner as far back as in 1978. Bought me a pair in London to take home with me to DK. It might well have been the very first pair here in Denmark. I stupidly sold them in the early 80'ies. But prior to that glaring mistake, I'd very succesfully paired them with the then new active Ace bass sub from AudioPro dubbed the B2-50 without detrimental side effects. If the B2-50 can still be found in working order, I can wholeheartedly recommend trying out this sub with a pair of LS 3/5A's. With careful adjusting - creating "a small hole" with the subs two freq.controls, adjusting the sub to roll away at some 60Hz+ - bringing in the LS 3/5A's at som 80Hz+ I ended up with a very coherent, seamless and dynamic pairing. The way the shoe boxes could explode in the midrange having been relieved of bass duties and the largest cone excursions were startling. It could "time", boogie and explode dynamically in a way I sadly haven't quite been able to duplicate from other speakers. Today I'm to run stacked LS 3/5A's, having just finished a DIY pair LS 3/5A to augment my Falcon Acoustics 15ohm 3/5A's. Thus trying to recoup some of what I lost so many many years ago. Sorry for the long post. All I can say: It CAN be done.
