I could only imagine your faces seeing a wall of LS3/5As. Fantastic collection, and the good thing there were still plenty around when I was there in 2001 to bring home a spendor.
I agree with Moz's comments on the height of the stands. I found out too that the heavier copies of the F II done here deadens the midrange bloom and clarity of the my LS. I had mentioned this to Jo Ki recently, and he agreed with me that the LS don't need heavy stands that are heavier than the LS itself. He even had a term for it: "Symphatetic density" meaning the mass or more properly the weight of both the LS and stand should compliment each other. And I discovered this to be true when I tried the local clone Foundations that was made heavier with "lahar" volcanic sand on them. It made the LS shut-in, and lifeless. After a few minutes of these stands, I went back to my original 29" stands inclusive of spikes, an all wooden mdf board that was made in Canada for the Paradigm Atom speakers. The LS started to breath live music again.
Because of the small size and weight of the LS, it's easier to move them around even in compact spaces of an apartment or flat. They can even be parked when not in use in some corner away from the center of activity to be safe.
The LS was such a big experiment at the BBC research dept that proved to be a successful one. There's no reason we should stop "experimenting" how to make it sound better! Even lesser speakers can benefit from it, why not this?

The copies of the FSII we have here are not really scientifically designed in terms of construction and mass. I think they are just made to look like FSII's with some fine sand damping thrown in.
The real FSII's supposedly makes the LS sing.

I am using Foundation II stand, and it is the MUST for LS3/5A, I found 30% tremendous differences before/after coupled with FDII... ;D ;D _________________________________________________ I found the tremendous difference was the result that I compared with my cloned FD II stand which was made in China mainland, she had gone immediately.. ;D ;D early Chartwell 3/5A party held at my place on this Monday evening
