Everyone seems to be busy nowadays and there has'nt been much discussion Lately so I thought I'd just post this long delayed project of mine It's been years that I've been planning to use 1003 b110's for a dedicated AB-1 subwoofer to match 15ohm ls3/5a's. I actually have two pairs of 1003's midbass drivers intended as spares. So far the need has'nt arised so I've finally decided on pursuing this project. Since I happen to have 3 pairs of AB-1's, I thought it would be nice to have one dedicated for the 15 ohm ls3/5a. It's been discussed previously in the Ls3/5a yahoogroup about the mods needed for the conversion. As I remember it would need lengthening the port by 15mm. I can't remmember if some mods are needed in the crossover itself. I would gladly appreciate any inputs on this topic. I'll also be posting this topic in the yahoogroup. cheers and regards to all.

Got some info from Andrew Drummond at the Ls yahoogroup regarding some details for using the 1003 B110 on th AB-1 subwoofer to mate with a 15 ohm Ls3/5a. As stated by Andrew, the 1003 seemed to be a better match the the Ab-1 subs as opposed to the 1228 according to cicable. I always assumed the 1003 would present an easier load for low powered tube amps and better integration with 15 ohm ls3/5a's especially using Jo Ki's method. I started working on the transplant which took about an hour. Initial listening is very promising. I'm still giving it more time before any conclusions. Took some photos during the early part of the project. I'll be posting the rest in the next few days AB-1 sub With it's back open The 1003 B110 waiting to be called for duty

Time for some update. Have been listening for the past few nights. Electronics used were Audio research SP-10 pre and Pilot SA-260 amp.. Hooked to the 16 ohm taps of the amp then via Jo Ki method link to Ls3/5a and AB-1. No critical positioning yet but at the moment the sub seems to be more tolerant of less than ideal placement. I tried the sub as close as 3 inches behind the speakers( Maybe I'd get some scolding from Jo Ki if He found out What I've been doing ) and also as the designer of the sub Intended (with Ls on top). Immediately noticeable was that the sound seemed faster without any hint of bass bloat. Integration with the Ls was rather easier than with the stock AB-1. Bass presentation was cohesive with the rest of the music (behind the speakers). It is possible that the newly placed midbass drivers haven't been given enough run-in time to fully bloom but I'd still be happy if it's sound stayed like that. I'll still give it a few more days of use then try again with some smaller amps(20 watts and below) to see if it presents an easier load.

Florida Georgia Line is my favourite contry band. Headliners Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard are those people that could make anyone sing along with them. It's the reason I like to visit their concerts. And - that's surprisingly beatiful - in 2019 they have CAN'T SAY IT AIN'T COUNTRY TOUR which covers all the USA cities and towns. For more information visit Florida Georgia Line Tour Dates 2020.

Breaking Benjamin is my favourite rock-band of 90s. They had so many hit songs! The ones I remember are 'The Diary of Jane', 'Tourniquet' and their hit 'So Cold'. These are real songs, not garbage like today! And it is sooo good that they have a tour in 2019-2020! And I'm going to visit Breaking Benjamin concert in 2019. The concert dates is here: breakingbenjaminconcerts.com. Open the page and maybe we can even visit one of the performances together!
